The Incheon Port Authority won the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries' Award in the marine safety and disaster response category at this year’s Marine Leisure Tourism Expo and is actively promoting marine tourism at Incheon Port.

The Incheon Port Authority said on April 2 that it is operating an Incheon Port marine tourism pavilion at the 2026 Marine Leisure Tourism Expo, which runs through April 4 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.

At the expo, the authority is promoting Incheon Port’s marine tourism programs under the theme \"Incheon Port Passenger Terminal: The Starting Point for Marine Tourism\" and encouraging visitors to use those services.

The authority received the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries' Award in the expo’s excellence awards for the \"Marine Safety and Disaster Response\" category. Judges recognized its efforts to upgrade facilities and strengthen safety management at the Incheon coastal passenger terminal to address the surge in ferry demand following the implementation of the i-Bada Pass.

To meet growing marine tourism demand, the coastal passenger terminal has continued practical, on-the-ground safety measures, including managing terminal congestion, reinforcing maintenance of safety equipment, and streamlining operational processes.

Lee Kyung-gyu, president of the Incheon Port Authority, said, “Through this expo booth, we plan to actively promote Incheon Port so more citizens can enjoy marine tourism. We will continue to optimize port facility operations to ensure the Incheon Port passenger terminal remains a safe and enjoyable starting point for sea travel.”

The award reflects the authority’s sustained efforts in safety management and tourism promotion, and officials expect it to help Incheon Port consolidate its position as a regional hub for marine tourism.
