[EPN Enpinaw reporter Go Nari] Wine influencer WineKing has cast serious doubt on the recent wine-switching controversy at Mosu Seoul, the restaurant run by Ahn Seong-jae, saying it’s difficult to chalk the incident up to a simple mistake.

In a video posted on his WineKing channel on May 3, he pointed out that, aside from the second-floor guest who raised the issue, a first-floor diner who quietly ordered the same bottle could also have been victimized.

He walked viewers through how bottles ordered by an individual should be served only to that customer, yet the disputed bottle appears to have been taken from the first floor to the second. That raises the possibility that a first-floor customer’s bottle was poured into someone else’s glass upstairs.

WineKing warned that someone other than the person who ordered the bottle may have drunk it, and said the pattern—based on what he’s observed—reads more like “wine fraud” than a one-time mishap. He made clear this was his personal assessment drawn from publicly available information.

Claims that Mosu Seoul served wines different from those ordered have spread online. One tipster said the wine provided was about 100,000 KRW (approximately $75) cheaper than the reserved bottle and criticized the restaurant’s follow-up as inadequate.

Under growing scrutiny, Mosu Seoul issued an official apology and said it will investigate the matter and work to prevent future incidents.

The episode has continued to draw attention online, putting issues of trust and transparency in dining back in the spotlight.
