Ottogi announced on the 27th that its new product, "Jinmilmyeon" (photo), topped 1,300,000 units in cumulative sales just 10 days after launch — roughly 130,000 packs a day, or more than 5,400 every hour.

Jinmilmyeon blends wheat flour with sweet potato and potato starch to achieve a chewy, springy noodle texture, and includes powdered broth made from simmered beef leg bones and brisket. The product is crafted to be enjoyed two ways: bibim milmyeon (spicy mixed) or mul milmyeon (cold broth).

It sold out during its Coupang pre-launch, and word quickly spread — particularly through the Yeongnam region — that it captures the local taste of Busan. Ottogi plans to expand offline distribution to major supermarkets and discount stores nationwide.

An Ottogi spokesperson said, "Through offline sales, we want more consumers to experience the authentic taste of Busan."
