Ottogi Co., Ltd. has launched a new product called Jin Milmyeon. With local, regionally inspired flavors trending, Ottogi designed this bibim-style noodle so you can easily enjoy Busan’s iconic milmyeon at home. It aims to recreate the hallmark harmony of spicy sauce and savory broth that makes Busan milmyeon so memorable.
What sets Jin Milmyeon apart is its powdered broth made from sagol (beef leg) and brisket. Ottogi simmered those cuts low and slow to pull out a deep, savory umami, and the powder was formulated to dissolve even in cold water. The noodles were fine-tuned to preserve milmyeon’s distinctive bite—wheat flour blended with sweet potato and potato starch in an optimized ratio keeps them soft yet satisfyingly chewy. Ottogi then married soy sauce, gochujang, and brisket-based broth with its own seasoning know‑how to create an addictive, signature bibim sauce.
You can enjoy the new product two ways: ▲ Bibim Milmyeon style—mix the spicy sauce with the noodles and sip warm broth from a cup alongside it; or ▲ Chilled Mul Milmyeon style—dissolve the broth powder in cold water and gently ladle it over the noodles for a refreshing take. Pick whichever suits your mood.
Ottogi will run a pre-order sale for Jin Milmyeon on Coupang and Ottogi Mall from the 12th through the 16th, then expand distribution across all online and offline channels.
A spokesperson for Ottogi said, \"Jin Milmyeon recreates the local custom of enjoying warm broth alongside bibim noodles at long-standing Busan eateries so people can experience it at home,\" and added, \"We expect it to set a new culinary standard in the bibim noodle market this summer.\"
