Translation result사진=태백시 Taebaek City in Gangwon announced it will kick off the 2026 Taebaek Heavenly Mountain Vegetable Festival with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. on the 24th at the Jangseong Tantanmadang central stage (around Jangseong Central Market).

The opening show will feature lively pre-ceremony acts — a pungmul nongak troupe, a Zumba team and a children’s choir — followed by a lighting ceremony, traditional pungmul performances and celebratory stage shows to officially launch the festival.

Throughout the festival, visitors can sample Taebaek’s signature wild mountain greens — gomchwi, eoseuri, nun-gae seungma, mountain garlic and dureup — all gathered in one place, offering a fresh, healthy taste of spring in Taebaek.

Organizers are also inviting residents and tourists to join hands-on events, including a wild-vegetable auction, a community sports day, deodeok (codonopsis) experiences and a wild-vegetable singing contest.

Food booths, activity zones and a flea-market-style “free market” will be set up across the festival grounds. Beyond delicious bites, attendees can enjoy workshops — making key rings, diffusers and photo magnets — and a kids’ zone, giving couples and families plenty of things to do together.

A city official encouraged locals and visitors alike to come out and enjoy the range of performances and attractions Taebaek has prepared.
