The city of Namyangju said on April 29 that the Namyangju Cultural Foundation’s first 2026 Bukhan River N Picnic Concert was held successfully on April 25 at the Bukhan River outdoor stage. The event pairs Namyangju’s \"N\" with \"Nature,\" giving residents a chance to enjoy live music in a natural setting.
The opening program centered on popular music. Attendees spread picnic blankets and watched the performance in a relaxed, picnic-like atmosphere. Because admission was free, families, couples and many local residents turned out in force.
The Bukhan River N Picnic Concert runs through May 9 and features programs with broad appeal, including trot and jazz on May 2 and performances of anime soundtracks on May 9.
Jo Yohan, CEO of the Namyangju Cultural Foundation, said the event was designed to bring culture closer to daily life by combining nature and music. He added that the foundation will continue presenting diverse performances to broaden cultural opportunities for residents.
The series has been well received as an outdoor cultural offering, and organizers say they plan to expand access to local culture with a variety of upcoming programs.
