Series, the menswear label, has opened a pop-up in collaboration with the cult anime GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) at RSG Seongsu on Yeonmujang-gil in Seoul’s Seongdong District. The installation runs through May 10.
GTO, a Japanese manga beloved worldwide since the 1990s, follows Eikichi Onizuka, a former biker gang member who becomes a teacher and confronts school problems with bold, unconventional methods.
RSG Seongsu, the pop-up’s venue, is a multiuse cultural space regarded as a mecca for riders — an apt setting to evoke the motorcycle culture Onizuka cherishes.
For the pop-up, Series centered the entire installation on GTO’s theme of “imperfect, fiery youth.” The brand translated Onizuka’s raw energy into a visual language designed to let visitors experience and immerse themselves in the character’s lifestyle.
The space is modeled on a school — complete with a chalkboard classroom, a nostalgic school store, and a cabinet-style sticker-photo booth — so visitors feel as if they’ve stepped into the world of GTO. Outside, footage of Onizuka riding alongside classic motorcycles creates a distinctive photo spot.
To mark the opening, Series organized interactive activities presented as a stamp tour. Visitors who complete three missions at the pop-up can enter a lucky draw. Missions include a punch game that channels Onizuka’s energy, a sticker-photo session for keepsakes, and an on-site social media post to verify your visit.
On event days — May 1, 2 and 9 — additional contests will take place, including a “Punch King” prize for the highest scorer in the punch game and a best-dressed competition.
