[Tour Korea—Reporter Yu Kyung-hoon] On the afternoon of May 5, a festivalgoer at the 49th Boseong Tea Culture Festival tried roasting local tea leaves by hand during a hands-on tea-making workshop.

The Boseong Tea Culture Festival, one of South Korea's flagship tea celebrations, opened on May 1 under the slogan "Boseong Matcha! Capturing Youth, Embracing the World!"

This year's lineup mixed traditional tea rituals with modern, lifestyle-friendly experiences — think hands-on tea workshops, green therapy sessions, soothing green-tea foot baths, and a colorful Daeshinje flag parade. The interactive programs drew strong interest from visitors.

The festival wraps up on May 5.

A Boseong County official said, "Because the festival coincided with the extended May holiday, crowds exceeded expectations from day one. It was wonderful to see people enjoying the programs. We'll do our best to make sure visitors can savor the rich flavor of Boseong tea and the spring atmosphere safely until the festival ends."
