Prosecutors have launched a raid after uncovering signs that a serving police officer leaked investigative information to suspects in a stock-price manipulation case.
On March 27, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office executed a search and seizure at the Gangnam Police Station.
Prosecutors say their probe found indications that a team leader at the Gangnam station leaked investigative details to the suspects while they were under investigation on stock-manipulation charges.
Earlier, prosecutors arrested a former department head at a securities firm and a businessman on charges of manipulating the market of a KOSDAQ-listed company, inflating its share price roughly fourfold. Prosecutors are continuing their investigation into A, a wealthy individual who is the husband of a prominent influencer and is alleged to have participated in the scheme.
