Park Young-wol has officially assumed office as the 26th president of the Incorporated Incheon Women's Organizations Council (Incheon Women's Council).
Re-elected at last month's regular general meeting, Park said at her inauguration on the afternoon of the 30th at Harbor Park Hotel in Jung-gu, Incheon, \"I feel a heavy responsibility for being given this opportunity again. I will work to build a stronger organization that respects our differences while we advance together toward shared goals, and I will do so with greater care and accountability.\"
As a re-elected president, she pledged to take on increased responsibility to ensure the stable operation and continued development of the Incheon Women's Council.
The Incheon Women's Council was founded to promote women's skills and social standing, support healthy family life, and help spread a culture of gender equality.
It traces its roots to 1975, when six organizations formed the original Gyeonggi-do Incheon City Council.
Current members include the Korea Mothers' Association (Incheon Metropolitan City Federation), the Korean Nurses Association (Incheon Chapter), the Incheon Veterans Association Women's Club, the Korea Women's Leaders' Association, the Hometown Thoughts Housewives' Association (Incheon Branch), the Incheon Working Women's Association, the Professional Women (BPW) Club, the Korean Nutrition Association (Incheon Branch), the Korean Women's Association (Incheon Branch), the Korean Housewives' Environmental Federation (Incheon Branch), the Incheon Council for the Movement for Right Living, the Incheon Women's Drivers Association, the Korean Pharmacists Association (Incheon Branch), the Korea Association for Daily Life Improvement (Incheon Federation), the Chung·Hyo·Ye Practice Movement Headquarters (Incheon Branch), the Korea Freedom Federation Incheon Women's Council, the Korean Women's Cultural Life Association (Incheon Branch), and Energy & Women (Incheon Branch).
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok and Incheon Superintendent of Education Do Seong-hoon, along with leaders of civic organizations across Incheon and presidents of district women's councils, attended the inauguration to congratulate Park Young-wol.
