At about 4:18 p.m. on the 14th, a fire broke out on a mountainside in Deokji-ri, Dain-myeon, Uiseong County, North Gyeongsang. Firefighters had the main blaze under control within 42 minutes.

Forest authorities deployed 10 firefighting helicopters, 29 vehicles and 83 personnel. By around 5 p.m., they had extinguished the main blaze and were working to suppress remaining hot spots.
Officials suspect the fire was caused by negligent burning of agricultural waste.
A Korea Forest Service official said a specialized wildfire investigation team will determine the exact cause and assess the extent of the damage. The official urged residents to manage embers carefully, warning that even a small spark can grow into a major wildfire if left unchecked.
