President Lee Jae-myung on March 16 praised South Korea’s Paralympic delegation, applauding their standout performances on distant foreign soil.

That afternoon, he posted on X (formerly Twitter): \"The 2026 Milan–Cortina Winter Paralympics have come to a close.\"

At the Games, the South Korean team won medals across multiple events and achieved its best-ever result. The president said they had written a new chapter in South Korea’s para-sports history and had given the nation both pride and deep emotion.

He said the athletes' determination likely inspired hope and dreams for many, and added that he was proud of every competitor who gave their all until the end, regardless of whether they won medals.

He also pledged continued support for the athletes as they move forward and expressed deep gratitude to the coaches, trainers, chefs, and nutritionists whose efforts allowed the team to concentrate on competition.
