On the 15th, the Blue House summoned relevant ministries to prepare a supplementary budget, saying recent developments in Iran have increased the need to draft and disburse funds quickly.
Kim Yong-beom, director of the Blue House Policy Office, chaired the interagency meeting to assemble the supplementary budget at President Lee Jae-myung’s direction. A Blue House official said, “We are reviewing the detailed contents of the draft supplementary budget.”
At a senior secretaries’ meeting on the 12th, the president ordered officials to prepare the supplementary budget and pressed for rapid action. He also told Director Kim, “Work through the night if necessary.”
