Today the Democratic Party held an on-site Supreme Council meeting in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, where it rallied behind Choo Mi-ae, its candidate for Gyeonggi governor, and Kim Bo-ra, its candidate for Anseong mayor. Leader Jeong praised Choo as a politician who has defended democracy with principle and conviction and needs no further introduction. The party plans to finalize and announce strategic nominations for the remaining 12 parliamentary by-election seats this week. Blue House Senior Presidential Secretary Ha Jung-woo and spokesperson Jeon Eun-su are expected to resign this week to run in the by-elections. Yesterday, Leader Jeong spent about two hours having dinner with Secretary Ha and reportedly urged him to run; Jeong said Ha’s decision is imminent.
