[Cheonan] Namseoul University announced on May 3 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Army's 2nd Operations Command on April 28 to cooperate on defense artificial intelligence (AI) and security. The two organizations will expand collaboration on education, research, technology demonstrations and workforce development. They plan to establish a Defense AI and Security Cluster that brings together the military, academia, local governments and private industry. Namseoul will deliver AI and data training programs aimed at military commanders through its Department of AI Security Convergence and its AI Convergence Research Center. The university also plans to link those programs with its graduate school and contract-based academic programs. Yoon Seung-yong, president of Namseoul University, said, "We will deliver tangible results by linking national initiatives with regional industry."
