[Herald Economy = Reporter Kim Kwang-woo] On the 14th, the People Power Party condemned North Korea’s ballistic missile launch, saying it “strongly condemns actions that threaten security on the Korean Peninsula.”

In a written statement, party spokesman Cho Yong-sul called North Korea’s decision to fire a missile immediately after the United States signaled a willingness to engage in talks a blatant challenge to the international community’s peaceful efforts.

Cho also criticized the government for what he described as a passive response to Pyongyang’s provocative military actions, saying authorities have allowed the situation to go unchecked. He urged officials to demonstrate to the international community a clear and unwavering resolve to never tolerate illegal provocations.

He stressed the need to strengthen coordination with international partners so that North Korea understands it will gain nothing from such unlawful provocations.
