[Sports Seoul | Reporter Yoon Dong-eon] Actress Park Jung-soo turned heads with a big shopping splurge for her granddaughters.
On the 13th, her YouTube channel Can’t Stop Jung-soo posted a video titled Park Jung-soo Treats! Granddaughters Trust Grandma’s Card and Empty the Cart. The clip shows Park shopping with her eldest daughter and granddaughters at Seoul’s Dongdaemun Market.
In her 70s but radiating a surprisingly youthful vibe, Park browsed everything from keycap keyrings to pens and cosmetics. She kept urging the girls on—“Go ahead, buy more,” “Let’s splurge,” “Grandma will pay”—and the granddaughters happily piled the cart high. Even her daughter couldn’t hide her surprise.
At checkout, Park joked, “Stop before Grandma has to dip into her lease deposit,” but she kept cheering them on. When the granddaughters fretted, “If it goes over 400,000 KRW (approximately $300), Grandma might be mad,” she coolly handed over her card, saying, “I’m not that stingy.”
The final total was 442,870 KRW (approximately $332.15). Even at that price, Park smiled, “It makes me happy to buy things for you like this. You’ve been too busy to visit Grandma, so today means a lot,” and she wrapped up the outing with affectionate kisses for her granddaughters.
Park debuted in 1972 as part of MBC’s 5th open talent class. She married in 1975, had two children, and later divorced by mutual agreement. She has since been in a common-law relationship with producer Jeong Eul-young, the father of actor Jung Kyung-ho. hellboy321@sportsseoul.com
