Yeongam County has teamed up with snack franchise Yamssam Gimbap to introduce a hanwoo (Korean beef) menu, aiming to broaden distribution channels for local agricultural and livestock products.
Under the agreement, the county developed four new items — including Hanwoo Soboro Gimbap and Hanwoo Rolled Omelet Gimbap — and will preview select dishes at the Wangin Cultural Festival. The new menu items will be available at Yamssam Gimbap locations nationwide starting in April.
The collaboration is part of a \"loconomy\" approach that pairs regional specialties with a franchise to secure steady sales outlets while boosting brand awareness.
After last year’s rice-focused partnership with Yamssam Gimbap generated about 820 million KRW (about $615,000), industry observers are watching closely to see how consumers respond to the hanwoo offerings.
