[World Today reporter Kim Se-hwa] Korail Distribution (CEO Park Jeong-hyun) announced that its traditional spirit, Seoul Station, took home an award at the 2026 Korea Liquor Awards—an accolade that officially validates the product’s quality and market competitiveness.

Now in its 13th year, the Korea Liquor Awards—hosted by ChosunBiz—is a leading national tasting competition. Each year it spotlights outstanding traditional liquors and works to promote a healthier, more refined drinking culture.

Seoul Station is crafted using surabae, a Seoul specialty, and launched in February. It has been drawing steady interest ever since. This year judges awarded it the top prize in the traditional liqueur category, praising its flavor, refinement, and commercial appeal.

The product pairs Seoul’s distinct flavors with design nods to the iconic Seoul Station. The bottle label features an illustrated rendering of the old Seoul Station building, and the two matching cups echo the same outline to create a cohesive, gift-ready set.

The set is priced at 30,000 KRW (about $22.50). It’s available at Storyway convenience stores in the lobbies of Seoul Station and Yongsan Station, as well as at Korea Train Mates, a shop specializing in railway merchandise.

Yang Woong-sik, head of Korail Distribution’s Goods Biz TF, said, “It’s especially meaningful that a traditional liquor we launched through station commercial facilities has been recognized for its quality and gained credibility. We’ll keep developing standout products that link local communities and railways, building customer trust and boosting the competitiveness of railway goods.”
