Shinsegae Food Co. (031440) said on the 10th that No Brand Burger sales in commercial and office districts have climbed as “lunchflation”—when a midday meal tops 10,000 KRW (about $7.50)—keeps pinching wallets.

From January through February this year, lunch-hour burger sales at five No Brand Burger locations in major Seoul office districts—Euljiro, Samseong and Yeoksam—were up 11% versus the same period a year earlier.

That’s double the 5% increase recorded at regular outlets over the same span, signaling that cost-conscious office workers are increasingly choosing No Brand Burger for midday meals.

The company also found that lunch crowds in office areas are gravitating toward budget-friendly options: 72% of those customers picked set meals priced at 7,000 KRW (about $5.25) or less, and roughly 34% most often ordered the Amazing Double Set.

The Amazing Double stacks about 30% more meat than competing double-patty burgers while costing roughly 30% less, making it No Brand Burger’s standout value item.

Priced at 4,500 KRW (about $3.38) a la carte and 6,400 KRW (about $4.80) as a set, the Amazing Double is known for delivering big satisfaction for the price. It surpassed 1.5 million cumulative sales within 10 months of launch, and monthly sales have topped 200,000 since January.

“We’ll keep rolling out menu items and promotions that ease customers’ price burdens and further strengthen our position as the country’s leading value burger brand,” a Shinsegae Food spokesperson said.
