Nexen Tire announced on Feb. 27 that it has unveiled the Le Court Advanced, a high-performance tennis shoe developed in collaboration with global sports brand Le Coq.
The Le Court Advanced enhances outsole performance by applying Nexen Group’s electric-vehicle tire technology to the shoe’s sole. Nexen Tire and Nexen teamed up to create a high-performance outsole compound using functional materials, while Le Coq led the outsole’s design and structural engineering.
Tennis shoes need outstanding abrasion resistance and grip because players make quick cuts and face constant friction on the court. Those demands mirror what electric-vehicle tires must handle—heavy loads and high torque. Nexen Group translated its tire expertise into the shoe outsole to sharpen on-court performance. During development, Nexen registered a patent for the specialized outsole compound.
With more than 80 years of history, Nexen Tire has advanced core technologies—durability, grip and noise reduction—through R&D. The company applied AI to develop compounds that deliver the strong grip and long-lasting durability required by electric vehicles. Tires built with Nexen Tire’s latest tech provide drivers with a more refined driving experience.
A Nexen Tire representative said, "This collaboration with Le Coq was designed to let people experience Nexen Tire's technology in everyday life. We will continue expanding partnerships with a variety of brands so we can present Nexen Tire's innovations in a more approachable way."
