'Unpredictable Family' turned into a well-oiled operation as the Ssuk Family elevated their game through a flawless division of labor. The episode also featured Lee Chun-hee, who first rose to prominence on SBS’s Family Outing and left that show in 2009, drawing renewed viewer interest.
In the 5th episode of tvN’s Unpredictable Family, which aired Friday the 10th, the cast found their rhythm while continuing exterior wall work and installing floor heating. Their tight teamwork and sizzling chemistry boosted the episode’s entertainment value. The broadcast ranked first in its time slot among cable and general channels in the Seoul metropolitan area and posted the highest 2049 rating for tvN. As the craftsmen directed the work, the rest of the members moved quickly to hand over tools and materials. Lee Chun-hee, confident at first, struggled to find stones of the right size. Jang Woo-young, by contrast, used a keen eye to pick perfect matches and even spotted a protruding stone on the wall, earning praise for his craftsmanship and Lee’s good-natured envy.
The next morning, after finishing the difficult wall work, the Ssuk Family joined early-arriving Song Eun-yi to install indoor floor heating. Each member took up a station and worked efficiently, demonstrating strong teamwork. Lee Chun-hee redeemed himself from the previous day by precisely cutting insulation to fit snugly, earning him the nickname “tape-measure master.” Song Eun-yi, drawing on past experience with heavy carpentry, hammered with one-shot precision and showed off what the cast jokingly called her “Song-hammer” skills.
Later, when Kim Sook and Lee Chun-hee slipped away during a break to buy hotteok, Song Eun-yi and Jang Woo-young feigned outrage. Oblivious, Kim Sook and Lee Chun-hee returned with a full bag of hotteok and quietly launched into a secret food mukbang. Under Song Eun-yi’s sharp questioning, the pair eventually confessed, prompting laughter from the whole crew.
After work, Lee Chun-hee and Jang Woo-young ran into a local man they had helped with recent house wiring while at the market. When he mentioned a broken light, they rolled up their sleeves, went to his home and replaced the bulb with ease. Grateful, he invited Kim Sook and Song Eun-yi over and offered to cook noodles, so the group gathered at his house.
Unlike the compact Ssuk House, the man’s home was spacious. The members toured the place and then praised the heartfelt noodles he prepared. As he shared stories from his past and a dopamine-filled tale of his romantic marriage, the cast listened, entertained. On a whim, they challenged him to a round of hwatu, a traditional Korean card game, which elevated the evening’s excitement to a peak.
