[MyDaily = Reporter Kwak Myung-dong] Actress Park Bo-young’s acceptance speech at the Baeksang Arts Awards was deeply moving.

Park won the Best Actress in Television award at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held on the 8th.

Recalling her dual role in the series 'Unknown Seoul,' Park said she remembered the drama’s central question: “Have you ever felt that someone else’s life looked better than your own?” She added that while some people might envy her life, she too has often felt that other people’s lives seemed preferable.

“I tended to notice other people’s talent without seeing the effort behind it,” she said. “I’ve always disliked competition, and there were times when constantly having to prove my worth felt crushing. At those moments I would look around and see actors who were exceptional. I didn’t want to fall behind—I wanted to do better, and maybe I simply didn’t want to lose. That sharp drive pushed me to work harder, and those days of effort have made me who I am today,” she said, tearing up.

She closed by addressing what she called “the many deer and hermit crabs out there,” urging the audience: “Yesterday is over, tomorrow still seems far away, and today is uncertain—so let us try to live today well.” Her words drew warm applause.

Two years earlier, Park took home Best Actress at the Blue Dragon Series Awards for 'Morning Comes to the Psychiatric Ward Too.' At that time she offered comfort to viewers, saying, “If anyone is going through a very dark, long night, please don’t give up—hold on until morning comes.”
