Former One Time member Song Baek-kyung wrote on her personal account on March 16 that after debuting in 1998, the first person who made her feel a regional kinship asked, “Are you from Jeolla Province?” That moment, she said, is how they became friends — “That’s my friend Minwoo,” she added.
She continued that Minwoo sent her a wedding invitation and the couple looked so beautiful in the photo that she couldn’t pass up posting about it. She said she’d love to attend and dance for them, but between work and school she simply doesn’t have the time.
Song wrote that she’d long known the size of his heart, but seeing the wedding story through her own eyes made it especially moving. It reinforced the image of someone who truly values family, she said, and she wished him a lifetime of happiness.
She also attracted attention with a candid aside: she has no plans to return to the entertainment industry and has been busy erasing what she called the hollow traces of groups like One Time and Mugadang. “There’s one thing I want to clear up now,” she added.
In a teasing moment, Song recalled that when their schedules overlapped at the network she always thought they were on the same level. But after checking his profile, she noted he’s listed at 172 cm (about 5 ft 8 in) while she’s 163 cm (about 5 ft 4 in). “Minwoo may once have been nine meters taller than me in ambition, but he’s never been more than 9 cm (about 3.5 in) taller than me,” she joked.
She closed the post with affection: “Congratulations on your marriage. You’re my first celebrity friend — love you,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Lee Min-woo is set to marry third-generation Korean-Japanese Lee A-mi on the 29th. The couple welcomed their second daughter on Dec. 8 last year and have already registered their marriage.
