Daegu's Dalseo District, under Lee Tae-hoon, has completed a mixed-use urban healing site that pairs active facilities for teens with an accessible trail designed for people with limited mobility. The district held a completion ceremony for the Dalseo Starlight Camp Forest Adventure Playground and the Barrier-Free Sharing Path on the 30th and has begun offering full forest-therapy services to residents.
The Forest Adventure Playground centers on a three-story trampoline complex created to give teens, many coping with academic stress, a chance to be active outdoors. The first floor is an area for infants and toddlers; the second and third floors feature age-specific activity courses for children and adolescents. The district assigned safety staff and maintains continuous CCTV monitoring to ensure patrons’ safety.
The adjacent Barrier-Free Sharing Path uses gentle, step-free slopes so people with mobility challenges — including those with disabilities, older adults and pregnant visitors — can enjoy the pine woods. Rest areas offer expansive views of the nearby mountain.
A Dalseo resident identified as Jung, 42, said she was pleased that a quality play facility has opened and that she plans to bring her children here often.
Lee Tae-hoon said he hopes the facility will become a comfortable retreat for all residents and pledged to keep expanding restorative green spaces where people can experience nature in their daily lives.
