[Sports Seoul | Reporter Seo Ji-hyun] Actor Lee Sang-mi is searching for love on TV CHOSUN’s hyperreal docu-variety series, Joseon's Lover.
The episode airing at 10 p.m. on the 27th spotlights Lee, who once played the role of Gaetdong Mom on the beloved national drama Jeonwon Ilgi.
In a preview clip, Lee recalls, “After my mother had a stroke, I had to provide very difficult care,” and says she spent 21 of the past 40 years at her mother’s bedside. She has explained candidly that this history is why she’s trying late-in-life dating: “If I meet someone, I can give the attention I’ve been giving my mother to that person.”
Preparing for the date, Lee was visibly excited while getting her makeup done. “Make me radiant and look younger. It’s an important day—make me prettier than any bride out there,” she said. Describing her ideal partner, she added, “A man with my father’s kind heart, someone who can look at me with the steadiness of an elder.”
When her makeover was finished, Lee exclaimed, “I look 10 years younger,” revealing a childlike delight at her transformed appearance. Viewers are now eager to see who her blind date will be and whether Lee will find a meaningful connection on Joseon's Lover. sjay0928@sportsseoul.com
