Health, Hands-On and Performance Programs — AI Body Scans and a Dream Experience Zone
To mark Children's Day, Seoul Plaza and the area around City Hall will be transformed into an interactive themed space centered on the Haechi character.
On the 26th, Seoul announced it will hold the interactive urban festival "Haechi and the Dreaming Children's Day" for five days, from May 1 through May 5.
The festival comprises three program strands that span health, hands-on activities and performances: the health-promotion initiative "Haechi's Health Rescue Squad," the participatory "Haechi's Dream Experience Zone," and the "Seoul Gallery Stage Program," featuring performances tailored to children.
On the first-floor lobby of City Hall, children can join Haechi's Health Rescue Squad and take part in mission-style activities that teach healthy habits.
Participants can test six physical abilities — muscular endurance, agility, flexibility, explosive power, balance and strength — and assess their development with AI-powered body scans. Based on the results, staff provide personalized health counseling and practical guidance on improving daily habits. Every child who takes part receives a "Health Rescue Squad" membership certificate.
Seoul Plaza will host a dream-hill–themed experience zone led by Haechi. The Dream Experience Zone is organized in three stages: Haechi's Dream Workshop, where children make dream cards and wind chimes to hold their wishes; the participatory Haechi's Dream Tree, where visitors pin written wishes to a tree; and Haechi's Dream Hill, where children craft character crowns and design business-card–style "future me" cards.
At the permanent stage in the My Friend Seoul Seoul Gallery, three child-focused performances will run daily. The lineup includes character hand-puppet shows, sand art and a balloon magic show, among other acts.
The city will operate a stamp tour; children who complete all activities will receive a surprise gift.
Min Su-hong, Seoul's director of publicity planning, said the city designed the hands-on festival to link Haechi's message of dreams and hope with health programs, interactive experiences and performances so that children's dreams can grow a little more.
