[Herald Economy=Senior Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun District, led by Mayor Lee Seong-heon, and Yonsei University, under President Yoon Dong-seop, signed a memorandum of understanding on the 27th at Underwood Hall on Yonsei University's Sinchon campus to open school athletic facilities and promote community sports.Under the agreement, Yonsei University's Sinchon campus baseball field will be open next year on weekend mornings from 7 to 10 a.m. to amateur players affiliated with the Baseball Association who reside in Seodaemun District. The agreement runs five years, from 2027 through 2031.
Officials say the move should help ease the shortage of sports facilities in the city and encourage broader participation in community athletics.
\"This agreement will make a tangible contribution to residents' health and expand leisure opportunities,\" Lee Seong-heon, mayor of Seodaemun District, said. \"We are deeply grateful to Yonsei University for opening its athletic facilities in a spirit of partnership with the local community.\"
