Actor Yoo Yeon-seok said he was taken aback by a reading about his marriage prospects.
On the 11th, the channel 'Yoo Yeon-seok's Weekend Yeonseokgeuk' uploaded a segment titled "Did the Ghost Gate Open?"
That day, Yoo returned to the shaman who had advised him during the drama shoot and sat down for another consultation.
When Yoo opened the door, the shaman said his face looked different — that his physiognomy had shifted. Startled, Yoo replied, "I haven't had anything done. Is that a good change?"
The shaman told him the "ghost gate" was open, explaining that when an actor fully immerses in a role, a spirit can attach. "That's why you did so well playing the ghost in God & the Law Office," the shaman said.
Recalling the shoot, Yoo said that while he rarely suffered serious injuries doing action scenes, early in the drama his arm swelled so badly it nearly broke — an incident that added an unsettling edge to the production.
The shaman told Yoo his fortunes had flipped: his energy has completely changed, and this year will bring major success throughout all 12 months. "You're entering a 10-year run now," the shaman said. "Money, popularity, everything will follow."
But the reading on marriage was far less rosy. When Yoo asked directly about marriage, the shaman was blunt: "It's unlikely." She described him as outwardly bold but inwardly childlike — someone who enjoys being cared for — and warned that marriage would likely cause his partner distress.
The shaman added that domestic life would be difficult and suggested Yoo might live abroad. "Your chance of marriage is only 10 to 20 percent," she said. "You're made to live alone because of your success." She also cautioned that Yoo becomes restless when he's not working and that extended downtime doesn't suit him — "you may want a break now, but if you stop for a month you'll go crazy."
Meanwhile, Yoo Yeon-seok currently stars in the SBS drama God & the Law Office and continues to pursue a range of projects.
