By Yoon Dong-eon | Sports Seoul Singer and actor Ok Taec-yeon married his longtime partner in a private ceremony in Seoul on April 24.
Members of his group 2PM attended, lending the event added significance. The group performed at the ceremony, and member Hwang Chan-sung served as emcee.
His agency, Fifty One K, said it would not disclose further details about the ceremony or the bride, who is a private individual.
Ok announced the marriage in a handwritten letter in November. “I pledged to spend my life with someone who has understood and believed in me for a long time,” he wrote. “We will be each other’s strong support and walk through life together.”
After winning the Male Excellence Award in the miniseries category at December’s KBS Drama Awards for 'I Took the Male Lead's First Night,' he said, “I love you, Ji-hye,” a remark that prompted speculation the name referred to his bride.
2PM will play Tokyo Dome on May 9 and 10 to mark the 15th anniversary of their Japanese debut. It will be the group's first full Tokyo Dome shows in roughly a decade. hellboy321@sportsseoul.com
