Dog daycare Bowig said on May 8 that it held an urban walking program last week along Seoul’s Yangjaecheon for dog owners and their pets.
Planned in collaboration with Move Salon, the event focused on everyday walks. Trainers worked to help dogs move calmly in an urban setting and to synchronize owners’ pace and leash handling with their dogs.
During the sessions, instructors assessed each dog’s behavior while guiding owners as they walked together. Participants observed their pets’ reactions in real-world conditions and received practical walking guidelines they can apply at home.
The facility runs dog-care programs for owners in Seoul’s Banpo, Seocho, Gangnam and Yongsan neighborhoods. Its daycare schedule is designed to give dogs a stable daily routine, and the walking program was developed to extend that structured care into everyday outdoor environments.
“Walks are among a dog’s most important daily activities,” a Bowig representative said. “Creating a comfortable, shared rhythm for owners and dogs is essential.”
Bowig recruited participants through advance registration and conducted the program as a hands-on, owner-participation event set in Yangjaecheon’s urban greenway. Several owners from the Banpo area also took part.
Bowig is working with canine behavior specialist Professor Byun Seong-su to formalize its internal training standards. Using that framework, the company plans to expand owner-focused programs.
“Our goal is to support a stable routine not only during daycare hours but also in owners’ everyday lives,” Bowig said. “We will continue to offer programs that integrate naturally into dogs’ daily routines.”
