A Japanese woman who quit a major company to move to South Korea with her Korean husband moved viewers after she gave her entire severance pay to her father.
On the 21st, the YouTube channel 'Sae-chan' posted a video titled Japanese wife quits a major company to live in Korea... gives all her severance pay to her father-in-law. The video follows Sae as she leaves the large Japanese company where she had worked for years, prepares to move to Korea and shares a final meal with her parents.
Sae has loved Korean culture since college and studied the language. She joined a major Japanese company ten years ago. After years of dreaming about moving to Korea, she left the security of corporate life and decided to make the move.
At the meal, Sae handed her parents an envelope containing her severance pay. She said she had given them her first paycheck when she started working and wanted to give them this severance pay as well because they had been a source of strength whenever work was difficult.
Surprised by such a large, unexpected gift, her father at first refused, saying, I can't accept this. Sae replied that she had prepared it because she wanted them to stay healthy and spoke from the heart. Ultimately, moved by their daughter's sincerity, her parents accepted the gift through tears.
At the same meal, the father-in-law also expressed his affection for his Korean son-in-law. He said he had been uneasy and even fearful at first about having a foreign son-in-law, but the son-in-law's careful attention and thoughtfulness toward the parents opened his heart.
In his appearance on the YouTube video, the father said his \"second life\" has become enjoyable and thanked viewers, adding that their warm comments have given him a great deal of strength.
