Officials in Jung-gu, a central district of Daejeon, have upgraded the Pet Energy Park to prepare for the summer heat.
The district added closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to cover blind spots in the playground and bolster security. It also posted safety stickers on key fixtures, including glass doors and shade canopies, to help prevent accidents. The old manual suggestion box was replaced with a QR-code survey called Dangdang Talk-Talk. Large shade canopies were installed to block strong sunlight and create a more comfortable resting area for dogs and their owners.
The upgrades both reinforce safety inside the Pet Energy Park and create a summer-ready space where dogs and their owners can find relief from the heat.
Acting district head Moon In-hwan said, "We will continue improving facilities so dogs and their owners can safely and comfortably relax in the city. We will do our best to create a mature pet-culture space that everyone can use."
