Hapcheon County is rolling out its regional city tour, Hapcheon NubiGO, this month to make travel easier for visitors coming from afar and improve local transportation options. The program offers a 1-night, 2-day Seoul–Hapcheon itinerary plus same-day trips from Daegu and Busan. Officials plan to run each route five times between this month and next.
Participants will explore Hapcheon's top attractions, including Haeinsa Temple, Sorigil (Sound Trail), the Video Theme Park, Daejangyeong Theme Park, Hwangmaesan County Park, the peony cultivation area at Hotdeul Ecological Park, and the Hapcheon Museum. Last year the county ran 36 tours for visitors from Seoul, Daegu, and Busan, attracting 1,255 participants. The spring routes—focused on Hwangmaesan’s azaleas and Hotdeul Park’s peonies—earned especially high satisfaction and prompted many visitors to say they'd return.
Cho Hong-nam, head of the Tourism Promotion Division, said, "We expect the regional city tour Hapcheon NubiGO to improve access for long-distance visitors and help expand demand for overnight stays. We will continue developing tailored tourism products that connect Hapcheon's diverse attractions to draw visitors and boost the local economy."
Officials also expect the tour to do more than improve access: they say it can stimulate the local economy and support sustainable tourism by developing customized packages that leverage the area's unique attractions.
