On March 10, Geoje City convened the \"2026 Higher-Level Agency Evaluation Response Strategy\" briefing in the city hall's mid-sized conference room. Deputy Mayor Min Gi-sik chaired the session, which was attended by 33 department heads.
Last year, the city received awards in 55 categories across evaluations conducted by higher-level and external agencies. It also secured project funding totaling ₩1,422,000,000 (about $1,066,500), a record result that reaffirmed the city's external competitiveness.
The briefing was organized to build on last year’s achievements, to prepare systematically for upcoming evaluations, and to proactively respond to evolving assessment conditions in order to pursue even stronger results.
Deputy Mayor Min Gi-sik said, \"Evaluations by higher-level agencies are not just awards; they are objective measures of the city's administrative capacity and opportunities to strengthen external trust. Each department should familiarize itself with the evaluation schedule and detailed criteria, and meticulously check even the smallest items so we are fully prepared without gaps.\"
The city said it will continue to treat evaluations as a means to review and improve overall administration, further reinforcing strengths and addressing weaknesses.
