[Herald Business (Gwangju)= Reporter Seo In-ju] Jong-hyun Park, a professor in the Department of Architecture at Honam University, has assumed the chair of the Gwangju–South Jeolla chapter of the Korean Urban Design Society.The Korean Urban Design Society is a nationwide organization with 7,500 members. It is recognized as an authoritative academic body, known for conducting experimental research in urban design and for linking policy with on-the-ground practice to help create new urban cultures.
Professor Park said, "Gwangju and South Jeolla Province have urban and regional characteristics shaped by a complex interplay of history, culture, the natural environment and industrial change. I will work to establish this chapter as an academic platform that discusses future visions for local urban spaces and proposes practical, actionable solutions."
