Buan County in North Jeolla Province will allocate 11,768,000,000 KRW (approximately $8,826,000) this year to fund 49 projects as part of the phased implementation of its Youth Policy Master Plan (2023–27).
The county said on the 10th that the Youth Policy Committee reviewed and approved this year’s implementation plan at a committee meeting.
According to the county, the plan centers on strengthening a comprehensive support system for young people across five areas: employment, education, housing, welfare and culture, and participation and rights.
The county will prioritize expanding locally based employment, supporting youth entrepreneurship and skill development, and bolstering the foundations for stable living to improve young people’s likelihood of settling in the area.
Kim Yeon-hee, director of the county’s Regional Economic Division, said the youth policy must move beyond planning to deliver concrete results. She added that the county will systematically manage programs across sectors to enhance effectiveness and continue policies that have a tangible impact on young people’s lives.
Each year, the committee reviews and adopts the annual youth policy implementation plan, then monitors progress and adjusts policies as needed.
