Imsil County is expanding its 'Gagahoho Mobile Market,' which serves areas with limited transportation access, into a door-to-door community service.

The program travels through rural neighborhoods that lack easy access to stores, delivering daily necessities and offering practical assistance to residents. Officials recently added a knife‑sharpening service in response to local demand.

Imsil County and the Imsil Senior Club share responsibility for operating the program. The county provides vehicles and the program’s infrastructure, while the senior club manages inventory and routes to boost operational efficiency.

The project was funded with about 110 million KRW in Hometown Love donations from North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province and Imsil County (approximately $82,500). Officials plan to use the funds to add vehicles and increase both visit frequency and the variety of items offered.

Imsil County says it will expand the program countywide to narrow disparities in access to basic goods and daily services.
