
At about 5:57 p.m. on the 23rd, a fire broke out at an auto parts factory in Deokpung-dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Fire officials said they received a report from a factory employee that the blaze began underground. Responding crews deployed 17 pieces of equipment and 51 personnel to extinguish the fire. Authorities report no injuries or fatalities so far.
Roughly 10 factory workers evacuated on their own when the fire started. Police and fire officials said they will investigate the cause of the blaze and assess the full extent of the damage once the fire is fully extinguished.
