[iNews24 reporter Lee Sang-wan] Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province will begin full operation of its home-visit application service for the high fuel-price relief fund from Monday the 27th through Friday, July 3.
The measure is part of the high fuel-price relief program and will send staff directly to assist residents with limited mobility, including seniors and people with disabilities.
The city will establish home-visit application teams at local administrative welfare centers in towns and neighborhoods to close the application gap for vulnerable residents who have limited access to online or in-person services.
In particular, each town and neighborhood will have a dedicated home-visit application team that includes municipal staff.
City officials also plan to work closely with neighborhood block leaders and local community welfare councils to identify eligible residents in advance and conduct proactive on-site registrations.
Under the program, when a mobility-impaired resident or the director of a senior or disability care facility requests a visit by phone, a dedicated two-person team will visit and complete the application on site.
Once payment processing is complete, the team will return to deliver the relief funds in person.
However, applications may be restricted for households with other members.
A city official said, "The high fuel-price relief fund is a key tool for restoring household finances and revitalizing local businesses. We will actively implement home-visit services so residents who have difficulty applying are not left out."
