[iNews24 Reporter Jeong Ye-jin] The Busan Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center has expanded its fleet of rental agricultural equipment to ease farm work and reduce labor burdens on farmers.
The center has run an agricultural machinery rental program since 2017 in response to demand from the field.
Last year it purchased 21 machines across 14 types, including tractors, for the rental program. This year it added 24 more machines across 11 types; after they are covered by the comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance, the center will begin renting a total of 87 machines across 34 types starting next month.

The expansion prioritized acquiring appropriate numbers of the models with the highest on‑farm demand.
The newly introduced rental machines are intended to reduce farmers' physical strain and boost work efficiency.
The ride-on mower allows an operator to sit while quickly clearing weeds from large orchards and fields, making it likely to see widespread use.
The medium-sized tractor can be fitted with a stone collector to remove stones from the soil; this aids root development and is expected to improve crop yields.
The wide rotary tiller uniformly breaks up soil in fields and paddies, accelerating work and significantly improving tillage efficiency.
Farmers who wish to rent equipment can register on the agricultural machinery rental office website, where they can also find detailed information on available models.
Yu Mi-bok, director of the Busan Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center, said, \"We will continue to expand our rental fleet in line with farmers' actual needs and to operate the program systematically so that farmers experience tangible support.\"
