[Herald Economy (Daegu)=Reporter Kim Byung-jin] A vehicle drove onto a crosswalk in Geomdan-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu, and struck three pedestrians.

According to the Daegu Fire & Safety Headquarters, at approximately 4:54 p.m. on the 8th, a Hyundai Grandeur HG traveling in the second lane toward Dongdaegu Station struck three people who were crossing at the Bokhyeon five-way intersection in Geomdan-dong, Buk-gu.

A woman in her 60s, identified as A, sustained serious injuries. Two other women, one in her 20s and one in her 50s, suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.

Authorities say none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

After striking the three pedestrians, the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and collided with another car before coming to a stop.

Police and fire officials say the driver, identified as B (in his 50s), appears to have made a braking error while stopping near the crosswalk after seeing a stop signal. Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the crash.
