After Jo Joo-bin recently posted on his blog boasting about an \"in‑prison commendation\" and sparked public outrage, the platform blocked the blog.
Today (the 10th), AXZ, the operator of the Tistory blogging platform, said it confirmed that the blog had published content violating its operating policy and immediately imposed a permanent suspension.
AXZ explained that if a user's activity clearly involves illegal conduct prohibited by law, or if urgent action is required to prevent imminent danger or harm, the operator may immediately and permanently restrict access regardless of the number of prior violations.
As a result, the blog—believed to be managed by Jo Joo-bin through a representative—now displays a notice saying \"Blog with restricted access\" and remains blocked.
Jo Joo-bin is serving a 47‑year, 4‑month prison sentence after being convicted of running the \"Doctor's Room\" on Telegram and producing and distributing sexually exploitative videos, among other charges.
However, on the 20th he published a post titled \"Acceptance Remarks\" that ignited further controversy.
The post included a photo of an \"Excellence in Education\" certificate he received at Gyeongbuk Northern No. 1 Prison and a caption reading, \"The award is the fruit of my efforts. I proudly told my family to put it on the refrigerator at home.\"
He also uploaded portraits drawn by fellow inmates and photos of a \"rolling paper\" message card.
After news of Jo's in‑prison commendation circulated online, critics questioned whether it is appropriate for a convicted criminal to operate a blog and warned that the post could inflict additional harm on victims.
