A dispute among residents over noise in an apartment complex has escalated into threats and sparked an online controversy.

On the 9th, users on the online forum Bobaedream posted photos of two notes affixed to an apartment elevator.

The first note politely asked residents to reduce noise; the second contained violent threats and drew widespread criticism online.

Resident A's note said, "The music and TV from the upper units on Line 9 are too loud." A added, "I know which unit it is, but I won't say," stopping short of naming a specific household.

A wrote that they stay home on weekdays and do not go to work; when loud music starts in the morning it wakes them, making it difficult to rest at home. They added that on weekends the noise can be so intense the apartment even vibrates, underscoring the severity of the problem.

A warned that sound travels up and down the building through the walls more than people expect and urged neighbors to observe basic courtesy.

But a handwritten reply posted beside A's note contained threats. The reply's author, identified as Resident B, appears to be from the Line 9 units or another occupant.

B wrote, "Don't make other households look bad—if you know which unit it is, go confront them directly," and added, "Don't post this kind of stuff for a month and ruin the atmosphere."

He further threatened, "If you keep ruining the atmosphere and causing other units to be misunderstood after the third week of March, I'll smash your head."

Online commenters sharply criticized B's reply, calling the threats unacceptable and the tone unrefined.

Meanwhile, some users also criticized A's method of complaint, noting that while the noisy household is at fault, A's vague wording risked unfairly implicating unspecified units.
