[iNews24 reporter Park Chae-o] On the 31st, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced a new recruitment plan to hire 253 school food-service workers (kitchen assistants) in the first half of 2026.
The Office said these 253 positions are intended to promptly fill vacancies and respond to staffing increases across individual institutions.
To support a stable transition to the workforce for vocational high school students, the Office has reserved 13 positions for graduates of the 2025 vocational high school class.

The Office will also separately recruit three staff members for Busan Software Meister High School in Bongnim-dong, Gangseo District, to ensure adequate staffing at schools in outlying areas.
Residency restrictions for these outlying-school positions have been relaxed to include applicants living outside Busan—specifically in Gimhae, Yangsan, and Changwon in South Gyeongsang Province.
Applications will be accepted from April 9 to April 14 through the Education Public Employee Recruitment Management System. To assist applicants with limited digital access, the Office will provide an on-site electronic application support desk in the Smart Work Video Conference Room on the first floor of the annex.
After document screening, first-round passers will be announced on April 30. Interviews for those who pass the first round are scheduled for May 30, and final results will be posted on June 8. Successful candidates will be assigned to schools and education-administration offices under the Busan Office of Education beginning in September.
