Ahn stressed that city governance should be judged by tangible results and responsibility, not rhetorical slogans, and reiterated that he has hands-on experience handling Uijeongbu's major issues. With the runoff imminent, his campaign appears focused on projecting the image of a capable administrator rather than making emotional appeals.
However, disagreements over preconditions and format prevented the debate from taking place, and the runoff will proceed without it. In the closing days of the primary, mutual criticism and attacks drew more attention than substantive policy discussion.
Ahn also revived pledges on sports and the local economy while campaigning in the field. His campaign said local taekwondo figures visited his office to offer support, and Ahn used the occasion to reaffirm a central pledge: bringing the Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) to Uijeongbu as a key project.
