President Lee Jae-myung will host a roundtable with minor parliamentary groups and independent lawmakers. At a briefing on the 26th, Kang Yoo-jung, the Blue House senior spokesperson, said the president will hold a luncheon on the 29th. Invitations were extended to five minor groups—the Party for National Innovation, the Progressive Party, the Reform New Party, the Basic Income Party, and the Social Democratic Party—along with independent members of the National Assembly. Exact time and location will be announced later.
At the meeting, the president is expected to outline his plans on key issues such as prosecutorial reform and housing policy, and to seek cooperation on legislation related to the economy and everyday welfare.
Earlier, on Jan. 16, the president invited the leadership of the same five groups to Sangchunjae at the Blue House for a luncheon. He had invited leaders from all major parties, but the People Power Party did not attend; as a result, among the parliamentary negotiation blocs only the Democratic Party of Korea participated.
