Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, said on the 10th that the Yoon Suk Yeol administration failed to adequately solicit workers' input during its push for labor reform, and he called on his party to revise its labor policies.

At the Korea Federation of Trade Unions (KFTU) hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, Jang said the party pledged a new direction earlier this year and made \"a society that respects labor\" its primary vision.

He pointed to the party's appointment of former KFTU figures to party posts and the creation of a Labor Bureau as evidence of its intent to listen more closely to workers and to chart a new course for labor alongside the KFTU.

He said, \"I offer my respect and gratitude to everyone who has steadfastly defended the value of labor and devoted themselves to improving workers' rights over the past 80 years. Going forward, we will do our utmost to pursue fair and effective labor reform together with the KFTU and workers across the country.\"

When asked whether he would sever ties with former President Yoon Suk Yeol, Jang declined to give a specific answer.

Earlier, at a party meeting the previous day, People Power Party lawmakers adopted a resolution explicitly opposing any calls for Yoon's political return.

When reporters pressed him about his stance on \"cutting ties with Yoon,\" Jang said he had already conveyed his position through the party's chief spokesperson after the resolution was adopted. Asked why he did not speak at the party meeting, he said he was listening to members' various opinions and declined to elaborate.
