On March 9, the People Power Party adopted a resolution signed by all of its lawmakers, apologizing for the Dec. 3 state-of-emergency declaration and declaring its opposition to the political return of Yoon Suk Yeol&re;.

Song Eon-seok, the People Power Party floor leader, read the resolution after an emergency party meeting at the National Assembly that afternoon.

\"We apologize again to the public for the deep confusion and disappointment caused by the wrongful Dec. 3 state-of-emergency declaration,\" Song said. \"We clearly oppose any calls for the political return of Yoon Suk Yeol.\"

\"Neither South Korea nor the People Power Party can go back to the past,\" he added. \"We will move resolutely into the future with the public, determined to renew ourselves.\"

Song pledged to stop actions and remarks that deepen divisions within the party and to pursue broad reconciliation. \"We will cut off any behavior that disrupts the party's ranks or traps the party in past frameworks,\" he said. \"We will focus solely on the people and marshal all our efforts together.\"

He said that restoring normal governance must begin with constitutional checks and balances grounded in political balance between the ruling and opposition parties. \"The People Power Party will stand with all citizens who agree to defend liberal democracy, prevent the dismantling of the judiciary, and uphold constitutional values to resist what we view as the Lee Jae-myung administration's unconstitutional overreach,\" he added.

Song concluded by saying the party will unite all citizens who care about the country to defend South Korea's constitutional values and individual freedoms, and he vowed that the party will win the upcoming June 3 local elections.
