President Lee Jae-myung will host a luncheon on April 29 with five smaller parties outside the main negotiating blocs — the National Innovation Party, Progressive Party, Reform New Party, Basic Income Party and Social Democratic Party — as well as independent lawmakers.
Kang Yoo-jung, the Blue House senior spokesperson, announced this on April 26 and said the exact time and location would be announced later.
At the meeting, the president is expected to lay out his plans on major issues such as prosecution reform and real estate policy, and to seek cooperation on legislation aimed at addressing household economic concerns.
On January 16, the president also invited the leadership of the five smaller parties to Sangchunjae at the Blue House for lunch. That invitation had been extended to leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties, but the main opposition People Power Party did not attend. As a result, among the formal negotiating groups only the Democratic Party of Korea was present.
